Content Manager

Apart from monotonous life in my University, I do something creating for a change. I am the content manager of GIK's Website, which is totally maintained by its students. I had to work my way up from a simple event reporter, to content writer, and now the manager.

GIK's website has more that 200 pages, and since after the Project Revamp, which was about 1 year ago, the content has expanded in terms of new sections, weekly updates and other new features.

I have a team of 5, which consist of writers and reporters. The work we do is :

1- Gather weekly reports of event happening around GIKI.
2- Weekly updating of detailed news with complete information about events.
3- Bi-weekly content analysis to scan for mistakes , identify areas in need of updating& revision.

Charagonizor

This is a character recognizing software which scans images and reproduces words/letters that can be used for several purposes. The software can detect upto 130 fonts and 4 languages, although I have only tested it for English.



It uses Microsoft imaging library which is a useful tool for these type of applications. You can export the text to Microsoft Word. This is achieved by using XML document plug in.



It provides multiple image uploads which can be chosen for preview as required. Its fairly simple to use:-

1 - Load images (upto 7).
2- Choose image from the thumbnail which needs to be scanned.
3- Hit the preview button and wait the result to appear in text box.
4- Save the text in Word, or cut/copy and export it for custom use.
